Consistently ranked since 2010 as the Most Hired Ukulele Player in the United States, Hawaii-native Josh Kekoa Cho has been bringing his unique take on ukulele to the Mainland with a bold approach that's gained him fans and clients the world over.
Since 2008, he's performed at weddings in the most exclusive venues on the East Coast, including NYC's Angel Orensanz Foundation, NJ's Bonnet Island Estate, and Newport's Belle Mer.
He's also entertained high-profile events like Bette Midler's Hulaween party, the US Open, and the VA Uke Fest, in addition to performing at Flushing Town Hall and on Sirius Satellite Radio.
Born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii--from Niu Valley between Aina Haina and Hawaii Kai--his devotion to music led him to NYC to study classical guitar and music theory at the Aaron Copland School of Music.
His debut instrumental album, Hawaiian Ukulele Music, was launched in 2013 on iTunes, and features not only his uke and lap steel, but also his shakuhachi flute and koto playing. He currently resides in Long Beach, NY, where he's able to pursue his other Hawaiian-born passions--surfing and paddleboarding--all year long.
Past appearances have included: Flushing Town Hall's Global Mashup with 2 World Music Bands: CUBA Meets HAWAII; Bette Midler's Hulaween Bash at the Waldorf Astoria, featuring Crosby, Stills, Nash; Virginia Uke Fest; US OPEN Tennis Championships; Mohegan Sun Casino; Sirius Satellite Radio; Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe, Vt.; Daytop Strawberry Festival on Madison Ave
